Printed carpets and runners in exhibition carpet give a floor a face of its own: your logo, a house style colour, a full image or a marked-out route, worked straight into the carpet. At eye level every message competes with everything else on show; the floor is always clear. Visitors look at it, walk over it and almost automatically follow the route you set out.

We work with this for exhibition stands, events, showrooms, reception areas and ceremonies. The demand usually comes from marketing and event managers, stand builders, facility managers or municipal departments who want to dress a zone temporarily or for a longer period without touching the existing floor.

Versions

Plain exhibition carpet

Needlefelt or tufted carpet in a single colour, by the roll or cut to size. The classic choice for stand floors and runners where colour alone is enough.

Digitally printed carpet

Fully photographic printing: logos, patterns, floor plans, atmospheric images. The sharpness is more than enough for text and fine lines, as long as you supply the image at full size.

Inlaid shapes

Colour fields cut from different carpet colours and joined together. More labour, but very crisp and hard wearing, and worth considering for a longer period of use.

Material and technique

Exhibition carpet generally consists of polyamide or polypropylene fibres on a backing. Polypropylene is more economical and perfectly fine for short-term use; polyamide recovers better and is preferable where people walk on it daily. The weight per square metre says more about service life than any other specification: a light quality lies flat after three exhibition days, a heavier one lasts for years.

For public spaces and exhibition halls the organiser or the tender usually imposes a fire classification. Request it in advance: not every quality reaches every class, and swapping afterwards costs time you do not have on a build-up day.

In practice

• Laying is done with double-sided tape or a carpet adhesive that releases without residue. On rough exhibition hall floors an underlay is advisable.
• Clean dry: vacuum and blot stains. Wet scrubbing leaves rings in printed carpet.
• Common mistake: a fine logo on a light quality in a high-traffic zone. After a day the pile is walked flat and the detail disappears. Choose a heavier quality then, or enlarge the image.

Exhibition carpet is not the right choice outdoors in wind and weather, in places with roll cages or forklifts, or where the same image has to stay down for years. Then we are better off looking at printed vinyl flooring or an inlaid solution.

What determines the price?

• The total area and the shape: cutting rectangles wastes less than irregular contours.
• The quality, the weight and the fibre type of the carpet.
• Printed or not, and how much image coverage or how many colour fields are needed.
• The fire classification required and the certificates the venue asks for.
• The finish: edge binding, anti-slip backing, backing layer, shapes cut to size.
• Installation by our team or delivery for you to lay yourself, and how accessible the location is.
