Indoor waste bins for office, reception and canteen

Indoor waste bins look like a detail until they are not: an overflowing bin next to the coffee machine or a row of mismatched buckets in the corridor helps decide how well kept a building feels. We supply indoor waste bins that do fit in, with or without separated collection, matched to the look of your office, reception, canteen or public hall.

The demand usually comes from facility managers, prevention advisers, municipal departments and companies that finally want to make their recycling policy visible and workable. We think along about numbers, positioning and the split into waste streams, not just about the model.

Where they stand

  • Offices and open-plan offices: central recycling stations instead of a bin at every desk.
  • Reception and waiting areas: discreet, well-finished models that match the furniture.
  • Canteens and kitchens: larger capacity, easy to clean, with a lid against odours.
  • Public corridors, schools and sports halls: robust models that take a knock.

Versions

Single bins

One stream per bin, in metal, plastic or wood. Suitable where residual waste or paper stands on its own.

Recycling stations

Several streams in one unit or in linked modules, with a colour code and an aperture per stream: round for cans and bottles, narrow for paper, wide for residual waste. The shape of the aperture steers behaviour more strongly than any sticker.

Models with a lid or pedal

For zones where odour, hygiene or sight of the contents matters.

Bins in your house style

Printed or vinyl-wrapped panels, powder coated in your colour, with pictograms and text in the language of your organisation.

Material and finish

Powder-coated steel is the workhorse: sturdy, in any RAL colour, easy to clean. Stainless steel suits kitchens and zones where hygiene comes first. Plastic is light and economical, but scratches sooner and looks less well kept in a representative space. Wood decor or laminated panels tie in nicely with office furniture.

Almost all models work with a removable inner bin or a bag holder. Look at that closely when choosing: a bin without a decent bag clip means endless fiddling at emptying time, and your cleaning team notices that every day.

For buildings with fire safety requirements, self-extinguishing or all-metal versions are sometimes required, certainly in escape routes. What exactly applies depends on the building and on what the tender specifies. Check it before you order a series.

In practice

  • Put recycling points where waste is produced and on the walking route, not in a corner. A bin five steps too far away does not get used.
  • Make sure the streams always stand together. A lone residual waste bin with no neighbours makes sorting impossible.
  • Match the capacity to the emptying frequency. Too small means overflowing, too large means waste standing around for a long time.
  • Common mistake: introducing too many streams at once. Start with three or four clear streams; you can always extend.

For outdoor use these bins are not suitable. Rain, frost and UV radiation call for different materials and a different fixing; for that you should look at waste bins for the public realm.

What determines the price?

  • The number of streams per station and the number of stations.
  • The material and finish: plastic, powder-coated steel, stainless steel or wood decor.
  • The capacity and the dimensions.
  • Lid, pedal, lock, inner bins and bag holders.
  • Personalisation: a custom colour, printing, pictograms and texts.
  • The quantity ordered, since a series for a whole building sits differently from a single bin.

Let us think along

Send us a plan or a short description of your spaces and the streams you want to collect. We will propose a layout with the number of points, the models and the signage, and provide a quotation to go with it.

Frequently asked questions
