Storage and transport of event equipment

Storage decides whether your event equipment still looks the way it did the first time when you use it for the third. Cases, trolleys, covers and racks keep banners, frames, flags, furniture and technical kit together between two events, and make sure everything comes back to the warehouse intact and findable. Save on that and you pay it back in damaged fabrics and equipment that goes missing on the day itself.

We supply transport and storage solutions to event organisers, stand builders, local authorities, sports clubs and companies with their own promotional material. The question is almost never only where you put something away, but also how you get it on and off the lorry quickly, with as few pairs of hands as possible.

Versions

Transport and flight cases

Sturdy cases with reinforced corners, latches and wheels, for equipment that travels regularly and has to take a knock. Inside they can have foam or a bespoke division, so every part has its place. That is not only tidier; when loading it also shows at a glance whether anything is missing.

Trolleys and transport carts

For chairs, tables, barriers and panels. A trolley saves time and backs: one person moves a stack of crowd barriers instead of two. When choosing, look above all at the wheels, because they decide whether the cart also copes with cobbles, gravel or a threshold.

Covers and bags

Fabric covers protect banners, frames, flags and furniture against dust, damp and abrasion. They are light, take up little space and are the cheapest way to extend the life of printed textile. A labelled cover also makes clear at a glance what is inside.

Materials and construction

Cases are usually built from panel material with an aluminium profile and reinforced corners; lighter plastic versions are enough for equipment that is mainly stored and rarely moved. Trolleys are generally in steel or aluminium, coated or galvanised for outdoor use. Covers are made from woven polyester or coated fabric; a water-repellent outer layer makes sense as soon as the equipment ever stands on a tail lift in the rain.

In practice

• Choose the storage to suit the heaviest and the most fragile item, not the average one
• Label everything: a case without a content list is always the last one opened at an event
• Roll printed fabrics with the print facing outwards and avoid long-term folding along the same line
• Store textile completely dry; fabric put away damp develops mould stains that never come out
• Check that a cart fits through your narrowest door and into your lift, and that it stands efficiently in the lorry

When storage equipment is not the answer

If your equipment comes back damaged after every event because of the way it is handled, a more expensive case will not solve that. Sometimes the answer is a different fabric, a lighter frame or a clear agreement about who breaks down. And equipment you use once a year that shows wear each time is sometimes better hired than kept.

What determines the price?

The price depends on the type of solution (cover, case, trolley or rack), the dimensions, the material and the weight of the construction, the presence of wheels, locks or a bespoke internal division, and the number of units. Bespoke work for a specific product weighs heavier than a standard size, and printing or labelling comes on top of that.
